"Easy way to keep up with live chess"
I’ve been using Chess.com to follow a few live tournaments, it’s been really smooth. The boards update quickly, the commentary keeps things interesting, and I can check in on games from my phone without any fuss. Sometimes I trust my instinct and jump between games a little too much, so I lose track of tabs, but overall it’s been a great experience.

I like checking the leaderboards and chasing achievements, but sometimes it starts to feel a little grindy

"Family and school setup was way more annoying than I expected"
I tried using it for my kid’s account and a school club, and it started off seeming manageable, but no, it got confusing fast. The invites and permissions kept tripping us up, and every time I thought I had it figured out, something else didn’t work the way I expected. I checked the support pages too, and they were kind of helpful, actually, not really, they mostly just made me more frustrated. In the end, it felt like way too much hassle for something that should be simple

"Pretty good, but the translation isn’t always not weird"
Overall it’s been good, but some of the menus still don’t sound right in my language. It’s not unusable or nothing, just a little awkward sometimes

"The streaks definitely keep me hooked"
I’ll admit, the daily streaks are a big reason I keep coming back, even on days when I really don’t feel like playing. They’re motivating, for sure. That said, it does sometimes feel like the app is a little too quick to make you lose one, almost like it wants you to mess up eventually

"Login recovery was a bit frustrating, right?"
chess.com is great when I can actually log in, but the account recovery process was kind of a hassle. The reset email took a while to show up, and I had to try it twice before it worked. Support did help in the end, so it wasn’t a total mess, but it definitely feels like it could be smoother, you know?

"I’ve been playing for a bit, and the…"
I’ve been playing for a bit, and the matchmaking feels mostly fair to me. There are still those matches here and there where things feel a little off, but for the most part it seems balanced enough and not too frustrating.

"Pretty helpful and decent puzzles"
I’ve been using it here and there, usually with coffee in the morning, and the analysis part is helpful. It makes it easier to see what I missed instead of just guessing and moving on. The puzzles are solid enough too, not always amazing, but good for a quick challenge when I have a few minutes, like waiting for laundry or sitting on the bus...

"I mostly come to chess.com for the news..."
I mostly come to chess.com for the news and articles, but lately I’ve been feeling a bit burned out by it. The news section feels rushed, and it seems like everything is centered around the same big names over and over. Some articles are still decent, but a lot of them read like quick recaps without much real depth or insight. I’ve been using the site for a while, so maybe I just expected more, but it’s been kind of disappointing lately.

"Community feels unwelcoming"
I haven’t had a lot of time to dig in, but from what I’ve seen, the chats can turn toxic really quickly. It feels like nobody steps in much, so the whole community comes off unfriendly.

"Pretty much what I hoped for"
I’ve been using chess.com for a while now, and it’s been about as smooth as I expected it to be. Games load quickly, the app doesn’t feel clunky, and I can usually find a match in just a few seconds. I also like having the puzzles there when I don’t feel like playing a full game. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy beyond a reliable chess app, and so far it’s delivered with no major issues.

"The chess itself is really good and I’ve…"
The Chess.com itself is really good and I’ve enjoyed using the app, but the subscription side left a bad taste. The cost felt a bit high, and the renewal kind of caught me off guard in a way that felt sneaky. I also tried reaching out to support, but the replies felt like copy-paste answers that didn’t really address what I was asking. Great for playing Chess.com, just wish the billing and support were more straightforward.

"Every tournament I’ve joined has felt so..."
Every tournament I’ve joined has felt so badly put together... The brackets lag, things don’t update when they should, and support just gives these vague answers that don’t really help?? It’s not the end of the world, but it gets super annoying to deal with every single time!!!

"Notifications won’t stay off"
I turned off the notifications, but they keep showing up anyway. It’s frustrating when such a basic setting is ignored like that.

"I like how Chess.com shows my rating..."
I like how Chess.com shows my rating changes and game stats right after I play. It makes it way easier to tell if I’m actually improving or just having a lucky streak?? Motivating overall...

"Decent lessons, but not worth the price"
The lessons are okay, but they jump around a lot and don’t always feel organized. Some of the hints tell you a move is bad without really explaining why, which makes it harder to actually learn. For the price, I expected much better learning tools. I also don’t have a ton of confidence that customer service would be much help if I reached out, so that makes it even more frustrating.

"I was hoping I could make my..."
I was hoping I could make my profile feel a bit more personal, but the options are really limited and kind of awkward to use. I tried messing around with it for a while, but it just wasn’t worth the hassle

"Not sure I trust Chess.com anymore"
I used to trust Chess.com, but not so much anymore. Something about the way things have been handled just feels off to me, and it’s kind of ridiculous that I even have to second-guess a site I used to rely on.

"I do like the streamer side of..."
I do like the streamer side of it, and some of the creators make chess way more fun to watch. The site just feels a bit crowded at times though, and not every video is actually that helpful. Overall it’s good, just seems like it could be organized a little better.

"Nice variety of bots, mostly keeps me interested"
I mainly use chess.com for the bots, honestly. I like that there are easier ones when I just want a quick warmup, and harder ones when I actually feel like being challenged. I do get impatient when some of them start feeling too similar after a while, like okay, give me something different already. But overall it’s still fun and easy to jump into. 4 stars from me.
